Can inspection be added without replacing the line?

Usually. Inspection cells are added at existing stations, constrained by mounting position, trigger availability and how much cycle time is unallocated. That budget is established before hardware is specified.

How does plant data reach enterprise systems safely?

Through a gateway acting as a single managed boundary: protocol translation from Modbus, OPC UA or fieldbus to MQTT, with buffering, filtering and a controlled point of contact between the operational and enterprise networks.
