Leadership and Organisation

Faststream Technologies is organised by engineering discipline rather than by geography, with programme ownership sitting above the disciplines. That structure exists because integration programmes fail at discipline boundaries, and a boundary needs someone above it who is accountable for it.

WHY THIS SHAPE

Someone has to own the boundary.

A geographically organised firm has a site lead in each location and no single owner of a problem that spans them. A discipline-organised firm has an expert for each layer and nobody accountable when the board works, the firmware works and the system still misses its power budget.

Programme ownership above the disciplines is the answer to that. The programme owner is accountable for the outcome, not for a layer, and has the authority to make the trade-off that a single discipline would not choose — accepting more area to close timing, moving a function from software to hardware, changing a sensing arrangement rather than a model.

It is also why System Integration is the flagship capability rather than a service line. The structure and the positioning are the same claim.
