Consumer Electronics

The launch window does not move, and certification is on the critical path. Consumer products are decided by cost, certification and ramp rather than by capability — a design that is elegant and three months late has failed, and multi-region radio approval is where most of that lateness originates.

COMMON QUESTIONS

What engineers ask before they call.

01

What most often delays a consumer electronics launch?

Radio certification. Approval in each target region sits on the critical path, and test slots are booked against a design that is not finished. Planning the certification route at architecture rather than at the end is the single highest-return scheduling decision.

02

How is battery life actually determined?

By duty cycling, radio reporting policy and sleep-state design — all architectural decisions. Cell chemistry and capacity matter far less than how often the device wakes and transmits.

03

Can Faststream take a consumer product to volume manufacture?

Yes. Design for manufacture, test strategy, pilot build, yield analysis and lifecycle support are part of the engagement rather than handed over at prototype.
