Standards and Ecosystem

Engineering across silicon, radio and connectivity means working inside standards written by other people. This page states which bodies and specifications the work is engineered against, and does so as capability rather than as membership, because those are different claims.

AN HONEST DISTINCTION

Engineering against a standard is not membership of its body.

A great many supplier websites present a wall of standards logos, and a reader reasonably infers formal membership, certification or compliance testing. Frequently none of those is the case, and the inference was the point.

So this page says what is true: these are the specifications the work is engineered against, by engineers who have implemented them. Where Faststream holds formal membership or a certification, that is stated as such at enquiry, for the specific programme concerned.

The reason to care is procurement. A tender asking for certified compliance needs a supplier who can produce the certificate, and discovering at award stage that a logo meant something weaker wastes everyone's time.

Where it does, that is stated at enquiry for the specific programme. This page describes engineering capability against the specifications, which is a different and weaker claim than membership or certified compliance — and stating the difference matters in procurement.
