GNSS, IMU and Heat Mapping

GNSS positioning with inertial sensing, producing movement analytics and dwell mapping rather than only a position trace. Where something spent its time is frequently a more useful output than where it was at each moment.

WHAT IT IS

The short version.

A position trace tells you a route. Aggregate enough traces and a different question becomes answerable: where do assets or people actually spend time, where do they congregate, which areas are used and which are not.

Adding inertial sensing improves both. It fills gaps where satellite visibility is intermittent — under structures, between buildings, indoors briefly — and it distinguishes genuine dwell from a lost fix, which a position-only system cannot.

The output is heat mapping and dwell analytics rather than a moving dot, which is what makes it useful for utilisation and process questions rather than only for finding things.
