Every connected product needs the same foundation: connectivity with sensible reconnection behaviour, provisioning that works in a factory, over-the-air update with rollback, diagnostics, and a data model the cloud understands. Built per product, that foundation is rebuilt each time, usually slightly differently.
A device framework solves it once. The application layer stays the same across controller families, so a part shortage becomes a re-spin rather than a rewrite, and the cloud decision is not welded into the firmware.
The consequence people notice later is diagnostics. A product line built on one framework reports health the same way across every product in it, which makes fleet support a single competence rather than several.
