Position Overview:

 
We are looking for a versatile and highly skilled System cum Network Administrator to join our IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the stable operation of both our organization’s computer systems and network infrastructure. This position plays a critical role in maintaining system security, optimizing network performance, and providing technical support to end-users.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Administer, configure, and maintain servers and workstations, including both Windows and Linux systems.
  • Install, configure, and update system software and applications.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure maximum uptime.
  • Configure and maintain network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, VLAN and access points.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, optimize network performance and ensure reliable data transmission.
  • Implement and manage security protocols, firewalls, and access controls to protect the network.
  • Proactively address security vulnerabilities and stay updated on the latest threats.
  • Perform regular backups and disaster recovery procedures to ensure data integrity.
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents, implementing necessary safeguards.
  • Provide technical support to end-users, resolving hardware and software issues.
  • Offer guidance and training to employees on using IT resources effectively and securely.
  • Manage hardware inventory, perform regular maintenance, and plan for upgrades or replacements.
  • procure and install new hardware as needed.
  • Collaborate with software vendors to troubleshoot and resolve software-related issues.
  • Ensure software applications are up-to-date and compatible with the systems.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of system and network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Ensure proper records of software licenses and hardware inventory.
  • Work with IT team members and other departments to plan and implement IT projects.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and service providers as necessary.

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience as a system and network administrator or in a similar IT role.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), are a plus.
